Stegmaier 1857 Classic Lager is a an homage to the industrious people of Northeastern Pennsylvania. 1857 is brewed with a rustic grist of pale malt, flaked corn, wheat and caramel malts, bittered and finished with a blend of quintessential German and American hops and cellared meticulously for many weeks to yield an impecably smooth, incredibly drinkable pale copper lager. Finishing on the drier side of medium, 1857 balances soft biscuit and sweet toffee notes with on-the-money bitterness and a subtle yet sublime hop aroma that will have you chasing it to the bottom of your glass.
